When E-Gaming companies came here they needed high bandwidth. Though still regulated here, many have moved to larger premises in nearby Guernsey. Our excellent microwave links and upgrades to the local telecoms network mean Alderney now enjoys the fastest broadband in the Bailiwick, making the island ideal for remote working. The majority of the island also enjoys 4G, there is experimental 5G and we are included as a roaming destination by many UK mobile operators. Later this year the SpaceX Starlink low orbit satellite network will offer broadband coverage of the entire island, without the need for a cable connection or risk of cable faults.
No need to go hungry!
You don’t have to go hungry on Alderney. We are blessed with great pubs and eateries, offering everything from local delicacies to western favourites and much in between.

Much of our Island remains unpopulated, making it a natural adventure playground for all ages. Some days you can walk the whole of the costal path without seeing a soul. With miles of footpaths, forts and batteries, stunning coastline and wildlife reserves, Alderney is the perfect place to reconnect with nature.
The Island is home to some wonderful wildlife. In addition to puffins, basking sharks, dolphins, seals and birds of prey you may come across our unique blond hedgehogs.
