Covid has brought Alderney and the other islands of the Bailiwick of Guernsey (Sark, Alderney and Guernsey) closer together, with some from Guernsey enjoying a staycation on Alderney for the first time while the islands have been in a bubble together. Many have been amazed to find we have a beautiful island, top class hotels, pubs and restaurants and cheaper homes than Guernsey. This is driving up property demand and hitting rental supply. Some from the UK are buying here before even before setting foot on the island. Renting before buying is sensible, but it could prove to be a struggle. You may need to be persistent to find somewhere, but it’s worth it.
